We build Abacus Kids: a complete abacus and mental-math curriculum for children aged 4 to 14, on Android and iOS.
The abacus is one of the most effective ways ever found to teach a child arithmetic. Children who learn it don't just get faster at sums — they learn to see numbers, carrying and borrowing as physical things that move, and that picture stays with them.
The problem has never been the method. It has been access: a good abacus class needs a trained teacher nearby, a fixed timetable, and monthly fees that add up. Abacus Kids exists to remove those three barriers while keeping the method exactly as it is taught in the best centres.
What we believe
A curriculum, not a shortcut
We follow the same sequence abacus coaching centres use — direct operations, then Small Friend, Big Friend and Family formulas, then Anzan. If the order is wrong, nothing later sticks.
Free where it matters most
The first level is free forever, because the first weeks decide whether a child likes the abacus. Nobody should have to pay to find out.
Made for children, answerable to parents
No ads, no social features, no external links. Every result is saved so parents can see exactly what happened in each session.
Practice is the product
Knowing a formula is easy. Being able to use it fast, without thinking, takes hundreds of repetitions — so the app is built around short, daily, generated practice that never repeats.
